The first event to be held following the November 2020 launch of the Sustainable Coconut Charter, signatories and stakeholders across the coconut value chain reconvene to continue developing a common, consistent approach to deliver impact at scale, share best practices for sustainable coconut production, including remote sensing to measure deforestation, and review a proposed governance structure.

As follow-up to our years-long support of the Sustainable Coconut and Coconut Oil Roundtable, USAID Green Invest Asia, Barry Callebaut and Grow Asia convene this virtual signing event to launch the Sustainable Coconut Charter.
The event was featured the charter’s founding signatories plus panel discussions on potential impacts of coconut production on deforestation and biodiversity conservation, as well as Public- Private Partnerships, a pre-competitive collaboration among seven multinational corporations and GIZ to drive coconut sustainability in the region through the charter.

Sustainable Coconut and Coconut Oil Roundtable
Over one year after an inaugural sustainable coconut roundtable was held in Malaysia, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and global cacao corporate, Barry Callebaut, reconvened coconut buyers via webinar on June 30 to continue efforts to prevent a global coconut shortfall through a sustainable sourcing charter.
